Three countries, rising difficulty
Each Daily asks you to identify three hidden countries in order: Easy, Medium, then Hard.
Easy allows 3 rounds, Medium 4, and Hard 5. Higher difficulties use less revealing clues.
Each country is worth up to 100 points. A first-round solve earns 100; later solves earn less, and Give Up earns 0.
The progress row shows your score, remaining clue-map unlock, guesses left, and current country without naming unrevealed answers.

Read each clue release
You begin each country with three clues. An incorrect guess reveals three more when you have another round remaining.
Clue difficulty describes how revealing that clue usually is; a surprising value or extreme world rank can still make a hard clue useful.
Use a clue’s information control to check what the field means. Data years, ranks, images, charts, and complete clue text remain on the card.
The newest release appears first. Earlier releases stay expanded below it so you can compare all evidence before guessing again.

Switch map layers
Open the layer menu when physical or human geography could help you interpret a clue.
Default shows country boundaries. Terrain, Water, Population distribution, Land cover, and Climate zones reveal different geographic patterns.
Changing a layer is only a viewing action. It never submits a country or uses a guess.
Use zoom, Reset, and fullscreen to inspect the world while keeping the entire map available.

Submit a map guess
Select a country on the map, check the gold outline, and press Submit guess. Press Are you sure? to confirm it.
Selecting a country does not spend a guess. Cancel clears the pending selection if you tapped the wrong place.
A correct guess reveals the country. An incorrect guess enters it in Guess History; if guesses remain, the next round releases three more clues.
Countries you already guessed remain visually distinct, helping you narrow the map without revealing the answer.

Pause after the reveal
After the answer is revealed, review the result and anything you want to learn before continuing.
The score updates immediately, and the status line explains whether you solved the country or used all your guesses.
In competitive play, external tools may be used to learn more about a revealed country, as long as the research does not help identify an unfinished country. During an active solve, play without outside help.
Continue moves to the next difficulty. The new country starts with a clean map selection and its own clue sequence.

Complete bonus challenges
Medium and Hard have Bonus Challenges in rounds 1 and 3. Use the clues you already have to gain extra evidence; Easy has no bonuses.
An incorrect bonus answer has no score or guess penalty. Continent Bet must be answered before guessing the country; the other bonuses are optional.
A correct Over or Under answer reveals three clues. Clue Draft lets you choose one clue, and a correct Find the Extreme answer reveals its selected clue.
A correct Continent Bet keeps the answer’s continent on the map; an incorrect answer rules out the continent you chose. Bonus outcomes and awarded clues are preserved in your detailed results.

Unlock one clue map
Tap the map symbol (🗺️) on an eligible numerical clue to turn that metric into a world distribution map.
You receive one clue-map unlock for the entire Daily, usable only for the country you are currently solving, so spend it wisely.
If a clue contains multiple numerical measures, choose the metric you want before confirming the unlock.
The clue map opens immediately and remains available from the layer menu until you leave that country.

Read the clue-map scale
Compare country colors with the ten-bucket gradient, then select a country to highlight the range containing its value.
Percentile compares relative positions from 0% to 100%. Linear makes color distance follow the numerical distance between real values.
The highlighted bucket’s edge labels always show real metric values. When the clue has two units, both values are stacked.
Switching between Percentile and Linear keeps the selected country and moves its highlighted range to the corresponding position.

Type a country guess
You can type instead of using the map. Enter part of a country name and choose the matching autocomplete suggestion.
Press Submit Guess, review the pending choice, and press Are you sure? to confirm.
Choosing a suggestion avoids spelling mistakes. You can also submit a recognized full country name or country code directly.
Typed and map guesses follow the same rules for points, guess history, clue releases, and confirmation.

Measure with the ruler
Turn on the ruler to compare an 800 km (500 mi) reference with distances or coastlines on the map.
Drag the ruler into position, then use its rotation control to follow the direction of the feature you are comparing.
You can still pan and zoom the map when you are not rotating the ruler.
Treat it as a visual estimate: projection and coastline detail make it a clue-solving aid rather than a precise measuring instrument.

Review your Daily results
After the third country, My results leads with your total score and an Easy, Medium, and Hard summary.
Expand View rounds & clues for any country to review guesses, bonus answers, and clue releases. Clue titles start collapsed and open into the full clue card.
Distribution compares outcomes across players. Leaderboard shows eligible competitive results, while My results explains your own run.
Use Share result to copy a compact score, Give feedback to report an issue, and the countdown to see when the next Daily begins.

Learn through weekly challenges
Choose Normal or Hard, then complete a sequence of short learning challenges about this week’s countries and clues. Each completed challenge prepares you for the final identification round.

Advance with a clean attempt
Follow the instruction shown above the map and submit your answer when ready. You may use Reveal to study an answer, but that attempt cannot advance the challenge; retry it without Reveal to continue.

Complete the final challenge
Identify countries from their complete clue sets in a seeded random order. You have up to three guesses for each country. Normal uses 5–15 countries with no shared-heart limit; Hard uses 10–40 countries and gives the run three shared hearts. If you lose all three hearts in Hard, you must restart the final challenge before you can complete it.

Score and leaderboard
The learning challenges before the final are noncompetitive. Only a successful final challenge can enter the leaderboard: it ranks first-guess accuracy, uses final-challenge time to break ties, keeps your best signed-in result, and awards gold for a perfect run.

A new week
The Weekly Challenge resets every Monday at 07:00 UTC. Successful runs may score below 100%; 100% remains the gold result.
