Who operates World Clue

World Clue is operated by Emil Edvardsson, an individual based in Sweden. These terms explain the conditions for using the site and its optional account features. Use of the site

You may use World Clue for personal, educational, and general informational purposes. You agree not to misuse the site, interfere with its operation, or attempt to bypass technical protections or rate limits.

Accounts

You may create a World Clue account using an email address and password or by signing in with Google. By creating an account you agree to these Terms of Use and acknowledge the Privacy Policy, including its fair-play monitoring notice. You:

• Must be at least 16 years old to create an account. A parental-permission account route for younger players is not currently available.
• Agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
• Agree to keep your credentials confidential and not share your account.
• Take reasonable care to protect your account and notify [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access. You are not automatically responsible for activity outside your reasonable control.

You may delete your account through Account settings. Deletion removes your profile and login methods and unlinks game results. Limited records may remain as explained in the Privacy Policy, including shared results held by other players and records needed for a specific legal obligation or claim. Account deletion cannot be undone through the site.

Gameplay, rankings, and rewards

World Clue includes daily games, archive games, practice, leaderboards, public profiles, seasons, and reward features. Scores, rankings and in-game rewards reflect the applicable game rules and may be corrected when there is an error. A final competitive restriction follows the manual-review standard below; an automated signal alone does not establish cheating. Gameplay rewards are in-game recognition, not a promise of a cash prize or financial return.

Account suspension or termination

We may restrict or suspend an account when reasonably necessary to address a breach of these terms, unlawful content, abuse or a security threat. Measures should be proportionate to the issue. We will explain the reason and how to seek review where reasonably possible. Urgent protective action may occur before notice when needed to protect the service or other people, and details may be withheld where disclosure would create a security risk or breach the law. You can request a review at [email protected] or through the appeal form.

Display names and public content

Your chosen display name, player flair, public profile, leaderboard entries, scores, game history summaries, and season rewards may be visible to other users according to your settings. Google-derived names are abbreviated where described in the Privacy Policy. Do not post unlawful material, harass people, impersonate someone, or disclose another person's private information through names, messages or other public content. Tell [email protected] about a rights or unlawful-content concern, identifying the material and the reason for your report.

Competitive daily fair play

The current daily game permits one competitive attempt per person. While a country is unfinished, a competitive player may use only their own knowledge and the clues, hints, maps, bonus question, and controls provided inside the active daily game. External search engines, maps, reference sites, AI tools, and other outside sources must not be used to find or confirm an unfinished country. World Clue features outside the active daily, including Data explorer, Country explorer, archive games, and practice, must not be used for that purpose.

Another person may help only when they have not played, watched, or otherwise learned the answers to that daily; rely only on their existing knowledge and the permitted tools visible inside the active daily; and do not use Google, AI, external references, World Clue explorers, or another person to help find or confirm an answer. After helping with or seeing answers from the daily, that person must not later play the same daily competitively.

You may research a completed country between countries, after it has been revealed and before you continue to the next country, or after the entire daily is complete. Research between countries must not reveal, confirm, or narrow down another country that remains unfinished in the same daily. If you are unsure whether information could help with a remaining country, wait until the daily is complete.

You must not inspect or complete the daily as a guest or through another account before playing competitively, replay through another account or browser profile, share known answers, automate play, interfere with fair-play telemetry, or otherwise obtain advance knowledge. If you want to use a disallowed resource while solving an unfinished country, you must first disable competitive mode in Account settings or play logged out as a guest.

Every suspected case is reviewed manually. Competitive restrictions are applied only when the evidence considered as a whole strongly indicates a consistent pattern of cheating; a singular event or isolated irregularity is not sufficient on its own. We may remove an account from current and historical rankings and reward calculations or apply an indefinite competitive blacklist where the evidence supports a fair-play violation. To contest a decision, email [email protected] or use the contact form and select Ban appeal. A person will review your appeal; include your account identifier and why you think the decision is wrong. The complete rules are available on the Fair play rules page.

Content and accuracy

World Clue combines information from reviewed sources, but content may contain errors, omissions or outdated material. We do not promise that every fact, result or feature will always be complete, accurate or available. This does not exclude any guarantee, remedy or duty that applicable law requires.

Content ownership and source licences

World Clue's own site design and original content are protected where applicable. Third-party facts, datasets, images, maps and software remain subject to their own rights and licences. Read the credit beside an image, in the relevant information view or map guide, and the third-party notices before reusing material. These terms do not take away reuse rights granted by an open licence or by law, and do not imply that World Clue owns every source. Names, flags, emblems and likenesses may have separate restrictions; their appearance does not imply endorsement.

Country facts, maps, travel-related fields, rankings, charts, and generated comparisons are provided for learning and general information only. They should not be treated as professional, legal, travel, financial, safety, or emergency advice. Source datasets remain subject to their own attribution and licence terms.

Limitation of liability

World Clue is intended for personal learning and entertainment. Subject to applicable law, we are not responsible for business losses or losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you used the service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including applicable consumer and data-protection rights, fraud, deliberate misconduct, gross negligence, or personal injury where the law requires responsibility.

Availability

Features may change or be interrupted for maintenance, security, legal or operational reasons. We will give reasonable notice of significant changes affecting account features where practicable; urgent repairs or legal requirements may require immediate action. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Any mandatory notice, remedy or termination rights remain available.

Fair use of gameplay features

You agree not to automate abusive submissions, manipulate scores, rankings, or fair-play telemetry, overload the service, scrape the site in ways that harm availability, or use World Clue in ways that degrade the experience for others.

Privacy

Your use of the site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect and how it is handled.

Governing law

Swedish law governs these terms, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections provided by the law that applies in their country of residence. You may bring a claim in any court available to you under applicable consumer or other mandatory jurisdiction rules; these terms do not require consumers to bring every claim exclusively in Sweden. Contacting us first may help resolve an issue, but it is not a condition of exercising a legal right.

Changes to the terms

These terms may be updated for changes to the service, its safeguards or applicable requirements. Material changes are identified and account holders are asked to accept the new version before their next account-linked Daily game. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights you already have. The 7 October 2026 update identifies the operator and contact addresses, clarifies account eligibility, review and deletion, and strengthens consumer-rights explanations. Read the previous published-text snapshot. If you do not accept a new version, you may stop using the affected account service and request export or deletion of your data.
